"Hansel & Gretel" are the third issue in the charming new series of mice from classic children's FAIRY TALES!
Hansel and Gretel was first published by the Brothers Grimm in 1812 as part of a collection of "Children's and Household Tales." Hansel and Gretel are a young brother and sister threatened by an evil witch living deep in the forest in a house constructed of cake and confectionery. The two children save their lives by outwitting her.
Created in mouse form, Hansel & Gretel are each made of fine mohair plush with realistic shading, resin hands and feet, German glass eyes, inset whiskers, and leather tails. Measuring approximately 3 inches tall, built-in metal stands provide effortless display of this charming duo.
Hansel comes outfitted in an ethnic peasant costume made of custom made all-wool felt and cotton flannel with tiny miniature buttons and applied patches. On his head Hansel sports a jaunty felt hat. In one hand he holds a tempting all-felt cookie which decorated the witch's house! His little sister, Gretel, is costumed in a striped cotton skirt with applied patches. A cotton blouse, felt bodice, and felt kerchief complete her fairy tale ensemble. Gretel holds her batiste apron filled with delicious gingerbread shingles made of felt which she has just taken off the witch's house! No detail has been spared to bring these delightful fairy tale characters vividly to life.
Hansel & Gretel were produced as a Limited Edition of 150 sets worldwide. Each pair comes enclosed in a deluxe presentation box with the accompanying signed and numbered certificate of authenticity and the forms for owner registration. SOLD OUT
